Description
Here we have a beautiful specimen with gemmy and lustrous Emerald crystals, nicely placed on sparkly Biotite schist matrix of this classic, old-time specimen from the Leckbachrinne of Habachtal (Habach Valley) of Austria. No, these Emeralds cannot compete with Columbian ones, but they are from THE classic European locality in Austria! The largest crystal here is 2,3 cm but not the best of the piece. There is another 1,6 cm crystal which is superbly defined, is gemmy and has this desired highly saturated, deep emerald green colour. The prism faces here are excellent with an interesting pattern; but it is diffcult to see, if this specific crystal is really terminated. In any case a super specimen in splendid condition. Collected in the 1950s. Ex Dr. Schönfelder collection.
