Description
An excellent but unusual combination piece from the well known Aghbar Mine of Bou Azzer in Morocco. Several silvery and multifaced Skutterudite crystals richly scattered over a matrix, consisting of almost pure crystallized Erythrite. These Erythrite crystals are showing a superbly saturated magenta-colour, they are sharp edged, have great luster and only very minor edge wear. Since Erythrite is such a soft mineral, very minor bruising can be expected and yet this is a competition quality miniature that has been brought out without the usual distinct damage which most specimens from these recent finds (sporadic pockets over 2010-13) had. The quality, association with Skutterudite and dramatic structure of this piece really make it stand out.
