Description
Here we see a stunning cluster of Quartz from the, especially for this style of crystallization, well known locale Turbenalp of Binntal in Valais Canton, Switzerland. Tessin Quartz, showing this classic sharp tapering habit, is familiar mostly from finds in the high Swiss alps. I am told that the formation of Tessin type crystals is rather rare in nature, and due to specific conditions in the pocket as the crystals form. Certainly, the best I have seen in my life have all come from Switzerland, and this is real good one. It has sharp edges and great luster. The tips are perfect and there is only minor imperfection on this pastel smoky brown crystals. Hard to come by in this specific quality.
