Description
A very aesthetic and typical combo of brassy Pyrite and red hinted, black Hematite from the famous locale of Rio Marina on the island of Elba in Italy. I vividly remember the times in the 1970s and 1980s as regular caravanes of collectors started during the Easter or summer holidays to visit the sites there with great find opportunities. These dasy are over since decades and specimens like this one were still in those days uncommon. The Pyrite here measures enormous 6,6 cm across is superbly defined, sharp edged and almost undamaged. Only one corner at the periphery of the crystal has a small but visible imperfection. Anyway super aesthetic and excellent balanced.
