Description
Here we have a fine and large crystal of native Sulphur with great aesthetics from Cozzodisi Mine of Agrigento, Sicily. The Sicilian mines have been closed for years and these old pieces are very hard to come by. This one is subtlety aesthetic, and of good quality. The subtlety comes from the fact that both, the smooth and also multifaced-rough surface are gemmy to translucent, as well as lustrous. The large Sulphur crystal measures 6,2 cm, and is well-formed, translucent to gemmy, and lustrous. There is a distinct hopper-growth as well. There is some very minor bruising at the bottom, as you would expect, but the condition is very good overall. Much better in person, this is a fine, aesthetic, good quality small cabinet sized piece.
