Description

Lorandite is a highly rare thallium arsenic sulfide and here we have a deep red, 1.5 cm measuring aggregate along with yellow orpiment. Large crystals of a rare species from the classic Macedonian site of Allchar. NOTE: Mineral collecting at Allchar is only allowed with permission from the University of Skopje. The area will be declared a protected site. Several collectors without this permit were arrested by police (situation in 2010). (mindat)
