Description
This is a superb, thick tabular Wolframite aggregate with 2.2 cm tall crystal. Excellent metallic black crystals from the classic Czech locality of Cínovec in the Czech Republic. Wolframite has been named in the 16th century, very early in mineralogical history. Modern advancements in analysis revealed that “Wolframite” is chemically between Hübnerite and Ferberite with unspecified chemical composition though.
