Description
Botryoidal clusters of acicular, beige Crandallite on matrix. They are showing silky luster and measuring up to 0,7 cm in diameter. A very good locality piece. "During the replacement of the Pommeroeuil-Antoing canal by the new Nimy-Blaton-Péronnes link (1955), sedimentary rocks of the Carboniferous were exposed over a great distance during the digging of the trench in the Mont des Groseilliers in Blaton. At the time of its discovery (1956), crandallite, a new mineral for Belgium was intensively searched for, given its rarity." (mindat)
