Description
Tsavorite is a vibrant brilliant green colored Vanadium-bearing Garnet. It is not only a varietal name but also trade name in the gemstone industry for a green Cr- and V-bearing variety of Grossular. The best examples for Tsavorite are those from Tsavo National Park in Kenya. This specimen is from the Scorpio Mine in the National Park in southern Kenya. A very nice miniature specimen, a very typical representation of a massive Tsavorite from the mine where the gemstone is mine opencast as well as underground.
