Description
This is a nice miniature-sized specimen of Hanksite, a rare anhydrous Chloro-carbonate of Potassium and Sodium first described in 1885. This beautiful specimen formed in an evaporite deposit. This one is from the type locality at Searles Lake, and it is just superb in every way: doubly terminated, with fine terminations on both ends; perfect hexagonal form; decent translucency. Super perfection. Considering the collecting conditions of the dry lake bed of Searles Lake I’d suggest to go get this one, it is a really fine one!
