Description
Olive to lime green, somewhat indistinct but still recognizable monoclinic Chromediopside crystals very richly embedded in Quartz matrix. They are translucent on the edges, and associated with small emerald green Uvarovite phenocrysts. This is classic material from the Finnish Outokumpu mining region where Copper, Zinc, Cobalt, Nickel and Gold are mined in a very complex geological environment of ophiolitic layered massive Copper-Zinc-Cobalt sulphides, finely dispersed Nickel sulphides, quartzites, silicified limestone and serpentinite. Pieces like this exceptional specimen are rarely offered.
