Description
Mining in Cínovec, or German Zinnwald was performed from ca. 1230 to 1991. Tin and tungsten were the major commodities and if this Scheelite on Quartz specimen could talk we would hear about over 750 years of mining history. This might not be a specimen that exudes aesthetics but it is an important piece for a now extinct classic locality. And could the mica on the edges of the specimen be the now discredited mica species Zinnwaldite?
