Description
Here we have a superp fine and ULTRARARE specimen of "Blue Quartz" from famed and desired Swiss locale Taminser Calanda of Grisons canton. This wonderful thumber features nicely formed, sharp and gemmy light gray-blue "Blue Quartz" crystals with excelllent terminations. Blue Quartz is an opaque to translucent,- in this case almost gemmy, blue variety of Quartz, owing its colour to inclusions, commonly of fibrous Magnesioriebeckite or Crocidolite, or of TOURMALINE (in this specific case). The colour may be caused by the colour of the included minerals or by Rayleigh scattering of light at microscopic inclusions.(mindat) Ex Joachim Hennrich collection.
