Description
This is a realtively large plate, richly covered with numerous, elongated crystals of gem Armenite. Armenite is exceptionally uncommon, especially in large euhedral crystals. This piece has glassy, lustrous, white, crystals of Armenite on matrix. This is a rare, hydrated, barium, calcium, aluminum, silicate from the famous Simplon Pass, in Switzerland. This is one of the better specimens found in a freak and lucky find of the early 1990s. I have seen others from that find, but mostly singles before, and none on matrix for sale. A super specimen, almost pristine on its display side.
