Description
A superb specimen with well developed tombac-brassy coloured six-sided Argentopyrite and multifaced, black and red-hinted crystals of Pyrargyrite. Argentopyrite is a very rare silver iron sulfide, found only in macro-scale quality in a few deposits. The first specimens were found at this, the type locality, in the mid 1800s and named in 1868. This piece is extraordinarily rich, with small but choice crystals , nicely striated and associated with small but good Pyrargyrites. A superb specimen of a rare species in great condition and with good aesthetics, considering what it is.
