Description
Brilliantly lustrous crystals of the rare variety of Garnet, Topazolite, cover much of the display face on a starkly contrasting mounded matrix. The crystals reach 8 mm in size and they are like little translucent to transparent, olive green-yellow, incredibly bright and flashy interconnected jewels. They are razor sharp, very three-dimensional compared to the usual more flat style found in the majority of Topazolite Garnets worldwide and their contrast on the white matrix is dramatic. This location was only briefly productive and is now very scarcely producing, as it is at the tidal zone of ocean flooding and mining has always been extremely difficult here.
